Every time me played me pipe, An epidemic away, me used to wipe; And save the lives of hundreds of 'em, In their eyes, me was comparable to a gem; Until the day when me asked the folk, For the pay of me fantastic work; And they refused me plea righ' in me own face, And to teach 'em a lesson, me pull up me socks, me tie me lace; Me play me pipe again, but this time not for the mice, But the children, me was wise; Me take away their kids, and me ask 'em for me money, They give me me pay, me give 'em their kids, once again, all way bright and sunny.
